The rooms

Living outside of time, as in a fairytale

Our six rooms have been reconstructed taking to heart every detail, through an accurate investigation into Late Middle Ages iconography, observing the interior design of that time on ancient textes, paintings and engravings. The ceilings have been made with old woods and visible beams and the floors have been handmade using conifer planks; the walls are lime plastered or in wooden panelling, windows have iron gratings and medieval stained glass diamonds texture.

Every piece of furniture, paintings, sculptures and ornaments are original and antique. The beds, even though modern and comfortable, are upholstered with medieval patterned tissues. In the toilet rooms, we installed stone handbasins, brass faucets and waterproof medieval tents to enclose the shower stalls.

The names of the rooms have been inspired by ancient histories and characters of Verrayes territory:

Room 1 – Des nobles Saluard
Room 2 – Des moissoneuses de la lune
Room 3 – Des templiers
Room 4 – La borna de la faye
Room 5 – De l’ours de pro de Tar
Room 6 – De Joanneta Cauda

Each room is decorated with original pieces of art, classified in a catalogue along with the explication of the origin of the room's name.
